Dat blijkt uit statistieken van de US Geological Survey (USGS), in de eerste helft van dit jaar, de VS geïmporteerd 3.21 million tons of aluminum products, waarvan 126,000 tons were from Russia, including metals, legeringen, crude metals, platen, and bars, verantwoording afleggen 3.93% of the total imports.

The US is mulling whether to impose a complete ban on aluminum imports from Russia as a response to recent Russia’s escalated attack in Ukraine. Affected by this news, the London Metal Exchange (LME) aluminum prices once surged by 7% to US$2,400/ton on Wednesday.
